SUMMARY

The Parts Manager is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. You will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising, while contributing to an amazing customer experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Forecast goals for the Parts department and ensure they are met.
  • Identify and maintain parts selections and inventory that meets demand.
  • Manage the business in accordance with Inchcape, and manufacturer requirements and processes.
  • Analyze and determine any shortfalls and develop an action plans to improve performance.
  • Drive the business through a high-level of involvement in the day-to-day operations and track the daily gross sales of parts department
  • Reconcile and report shortages and/or damage
  • Reconcile parts/warranty return reports
  • Compile and analyze monthly management reports
  • Maintain tight control over parts inventory
  • Coordinate parts marketing
  • Calculate and submit monthly obsolescence reports
  • Engages and motivates the team to achieve key goals, performance expectations
  • Coach and challenge employees to maximize performance, embrace change, and anticipate customers needs
  • Attract, develop and retain the very best talent for the business
  • Manages and mentors staff, including recruiting/hiring/ discipline/ termination  of all employees, and ensuring ongoing training/education
  • Ensures people and department are compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies that affect service department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-understand, etc. department
  • Creates and drives a culture of exceptional customer experience and sets a clear vision and goals for the Parts team to achieve targeted with the highest possible speed and accuracy.
  • Develops and maintain sales generating relationships with wholesale customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
  • Ensures the Parts Retail area is retail-ready with proper displays, point-of-purchase information and visible competitive pricing for maintenance products
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Brand Partners ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures Serves as liaison with factory representatives

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Post-secondary degree in logistics or operations management or equivalent experience;
  •  5 year experience in Parts Department and previous warehouse experience is preferred;
  • Possesses analytical problem solving skills; Strong familiarity with automotive parts.
  • Good concentration with stock orders; Solid inventory management expertise; Effective administrative and management capabilities;
  •  Excellent communications skills- both written and verbal. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Word

  • Work environment consist of air conditioned office, non-air conditioned warehouse, and frequency of stepping outdoors to assist customers.
