Associate People Business Partner

Our People function is seeking an Associate People Business Partner to join our team in Africa, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this position you will

  • Implement people strategies as directed by PBP, COE, regional people leadership on areas of employee engagement, talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, reward programs, health and welfare benefits, training and development, retention, records management, HSE & OSHA compliance, and labour relations.
  • Support and at times manage people operations of recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and disciplining staff; Provide data on staff productivity (including third part workers) and quality measures, resolving issues; implementing change and also drive employee engagement.
  • Meticulously assess and provide input on people operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances along with setting right corrective actions
  • Ensure high performance culture is embedded in the team and partnered functions.
  • Support management by providing people advice, counsel, and decisions; analysing information, processes and applications.
  • Comply with local government requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Support payroll & HR Service activities and/or coordinate with Finance/third party service provider for timely pay-outs

About you

To be successful in this role you would need:

  • At least 4 years’ progressive Human Resource experience with holistic understanding of people operations and strategic congruence
  • Bachelor's Degree, with HR qualification or Master's degree in Business, Social & Behavioural Sciences
  • General understanding of recruitment, performance management, training & development, HR services and other key people operation pillars
  • Proficiency in working with and influencing senior leaders.
  • Passionate about process improvement and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to high-performance culture
  • Results-oriented mindset with a proactive and strategic approach
  • Excellent MS Office suite applications knowledge including advanced MS Excel skills
