The Regional Security Manager Africa is responsible to oversee all aspects of security across a complex region. This pivotal role is part of a high-impact global function that integrates geopolitical insight, threat intelligence, security risk management and crisis response across all business units. This critical role bridges strategic security planning with operational execution and is responsible for the implementation of compliance to Inchcape security policy and procedures to ensure the safety of Inchcape’s people, assets and reputation in the region. 

As the senior security authority for the region, you will lead a geographically dispersed matrix team, deliver expert risk management and security solutions, and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders operating in challenging geopolitical environments. You’ll also contribute to global security strategy, engage in cross-functional initiatives, and help shape the future of enterprise-wide security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner business in implementation of security policy across Inchcape sites, verifying compliance and driving best practice. Work effectively with regional leadership and other stakeholders such as People, Finance, IT, and Legal to address security requirements and concerns
  • Maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies, government security entities key regional security providers, share guidance, and manage intelligence resources for regional security and risk management.
  • Leverage threat intelligence tools, consolidate and expand a network with local authorities and security professionals to illuminate and anticipate threats to Inchcape, its personnel and its interests and conduct regular local and regional threat and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws related to facility and employee security.
  • Lead in the development of risk assessments and physical security plans, security operation procedures, and emergency protocols for projects in the region
  • Maintain effective communication with employees about security practices, security updates, and emergency procedures.
  • Provide specific advice and guidance on regional political risk and instability, and the resulting potential impact on the business.
  • Design and conduct training programs to enhance employee awareness of security procedures, risk mitigation strategies, conflict resolution and emergency protocols.
  • Partner Inchcape market managers to enhance security awareness and empower ownership and remediation of security risks.
  • Collaborate with partners to respond to, investigate, and remediate any security incidents.
  • Support leadership in making travel risk management decisions and assist global travellers and respond to security incidents.
  • Contribute to global security strategy, engage in cross-functional initiatives, and help shape the future of enterprise-wide security

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences 

  • Graduate studies: Business administration; International Trade & Business; Engineering; Police Science; Crime Management;  security focused studies and related field of studies
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in physical security, risk management or law enforcement with physical security plus people and vendor management responsibilities, ideally in a corporate setting
  • Proficient in commercial/corporate security, investigations, risk management, security management, law enforcement, military service, other government security roles, or a combination thereof.
  • Possess gravitas and interpersonal skills to successfully engage with executive-level leadership
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of operating effectively at all levels, from tactical execution to strategic planning.
  • Experience in using, supporting access control, CCTV and Intrusion Detections systems
  • Experience dealing with travel safety & security briefings, as well as local or national crisis situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and team-building skills and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to respond quickly to security, safety and sensitive situations
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including some evening and weekend work
  • High levels of emotional and social intelligence.
  • The ability to work independently and autonomously.
