The Role

As Aftersales Director for our Mercedes Benz franchises you will be responsible for providing direction for the entire Aftersales operation in order to deliver against one of Inchcape’s key priorities of ‘Growing Aftersales’. Our Aftersales Director will ensure that all the departments within the Aftersales operation function efficiently and as one unit to optimise performance and provide customer excellence.

 

Main Responsibilities

Profitability

  • Meet key performance indicators and targets for the individual sites
  • Look for opportunities to increase efficiency of the Service/Body shop and parts   operations to maximise the full potential
  • Take actions to ensure sustained profitability of Departments/sites
  • Ensuring we meet OEM targets and Bonus elements

 

Customer Service/Satisfaction

  • Take actions to sustain and enhance levels of customer satisfaction
  • Work with team to develop understanding and implementation of customer focussed environment
  • Respond promptly to any customer complaints and ensure timely and correct resolution
  • Liaise with insurance companies, fleet operators etc to ensure good working relationships are developed

 

Cost Control

  • Maintain rigorous control of operating department costs and budget
  • Manage stock inventories effectively
  • Ensure warranty procedures are followed correctly to ensure prompt recovery of monies due
  • Manage debtors on conjunction with Accounts Department

 

Administration

  • Ensure that company standards are followed in relation to control of funds, remised, vehicles, and other company resources
  • Ensure that steps are taken to ensure safe working processes are followed and provision of H&S legislation is complied with

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within the Aftersales environment 
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a target driven environment
  • Experience of developing and monitoring budgets and Manufacture Targets
  • Understanding of marketing processes and development of pricing strategies
  • Up to date knowledge of vehicle and consumer legislation, trade practices and FSA regulations and duties
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to guide and direct a team
  • Good planning and organisation skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong customer focus
  • Excellent communication skills – able to negotiate and influence
  • Maintain MOT compliance with the Brand
