Job Title: Auto Detailing Technician

Reporting Line: Service Manager

 

Job Summary

 

To perform all duties as designated by Aftersales and be able to carry out the functions of the department independently and without prejudice.  

 

 

The key areas are as below:

 

Day to Day Operations

  • Perform inspections and keep complete and accurate records of the vehicle’s condition.  
  • Move and park vehicles, deliver vehicles to correct locations and pick owners up if needed.  
  • Cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and client requests.  
  • Operating buffers, steamers, hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet service expectations.  
  • Using cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles. 
  • Apply protective finishes to the exteriors of our customers’ cars.  
  • Perform inspections to ensure that each step of the cleaning process has been completed.  
  • Inspect the vehicle for any safety concerns; report any warning lights and/or vehicle/windshield/tire damage; pull the vehicle out of the prep processing as necessary.  
  • Work towards achieving and maintaining excellent quality assurance and above market customer satisfaction scores.

  • Comply to company and TMC standards.

  • Attends 5S meetings regularly.  
  • Strive to become a Certified Toyota Technician.  
  • Strive to become a Certified Toyota Pro-Technician.  
  • Strive to become a Certified Toyota Diagnostic Technician.  
  • Strive to become a Certified Toyota Master Technician.  
  • Ensure that all scores in all training attended passed the TMP standards.

 

Other Tasks

  • Perform any other reasonable request or work task as allocated by the department manager and other senior management.  

 

Quality Control

  • Enforce and implement all policies, procedures and systems of workshop operations based on the BP Global Standards/Inchcape Standards.
  • Monitor job quality through quality control inspections, comeback reports and complaints.
  • Target market development for the periodic maintenance and repair work/target market segments.
  • Monitor service shop environmental and safety issues.
  • Maintain regular contact with BP Principal (distributor and Inchcape).

  • Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations, understanding and strictly adhering to rules and regulations established in the employee handbook and the company policies concerning fire, health & safety. 
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform. 
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the company and department grooming standards.
