Our Inchcape Barbados Inc. Finance Team is currently looking for a talented Accounting Officer for Barbados who manages the financial record keeping of the accounting function, prepares invoices, records payments, prepares reports and reconciliations which support the overall financial position of the Company.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Assists with bank reconciliations.
- Logs the completion and mail date of cheque payments.
- Prepares online payments or cheques to settle payment.
- Manages the application of online receipts.
- Liaises with the bank to settle any queries or discrepancies.
- Reconciles supplier’s accounts to supplier statements, investigating missing invoices if any, resolves any queries or disputes on the accounts.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving items in a timely manner.
- Assists with the yearly interim and final audits.
- Participates in the stock count.
- Files and archives documents.
- Ensure compliance with Internal Controls relating to payables.
We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Accounting experience would be an asset
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
