Our Finance department is seeking a Credit Officer/Relief Cashier to join our team in Barbados. In this position you will be responsible for managing related tasks which includes collections from delinquent accounts
What you’ll do:
- Makes and pursues collection calls to debtors.
- Researches and resolves queries in relation to debtors’ concern
- Initiates and effects payment arrangements, deferments, and seeks additional information which will ultimately resolve delinquency.
- Interfaces with various departments to address problem resolutions.
- Achieves, maintains and sustains established departmental standards, goals, policies & procedures.
- Consistently updates all pertinent information into the comment screen for the mutual benefit of all collectors/collections efforts.
- Complies/adheres to organizational mission statement, objectives, integrity quality and value.
- Recognizes and practices virtues such as customer focus, respect for each other, teamwork, professionalism & company loyalty.
- Answers incoming phone calls in a prompt, polite and professional manner.
- Composes and prepares routine correspondence to customers
- In addition performs the duties of Relief Cashier: Receives cash, cheque and credit card payments from customers
- Reconciles cash drawer/tin when necessary
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
- At least 5 CXC passes (including English and Mathematics).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline is a plus.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent in communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- High level of enthusiasm, professionalism and ethical standards.
