Our Compliance team is currently looking for a talented Compliance Officer for Barbados who is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable local and international regulations and standards relevant to the company and its entities, including AML, ABC, Fair Competition, Data Protection, and corporate criminal liability laws. Additionally, the role ensures that business and operational practices adhere to Inchcape’s legal and ethical requirements.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Compliance Monitoring and Assessment:
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations across Inchcape’s five pillars.
- Support internal and external audits related to compliance and corporate matters for the two Barbados entities ( ICI and IBI).
- Conduct control assessments for each compliance pillar.
- Provide regional support for training initiatives and the annual update of compliance controls.
- Document, update, and manage the company’s risk map.
Legal Management Support and Document Coordination:
- Coordinate the execution of legal documents, contracts, and letters.
- Assist the Legal Manager in following up on requirements related to Dealers, OEMs, and Suppliers.
- Ensure that contracts, amendments, and corporate legal documents are updated and securely stored.
Regulatory Risk Management:
- Identify and assess risks related to the five compliance pillars according to control frequencies and the risk matrix.
- Implement controls to comply with AML regulations, counter-terrorism financing, Data Protection, and Fair Competition laws.
- Keep the risk management platform updated and ensure compliance with controls and associated documentation.
- Monitor transactions to detect suspicious activities in vehicle sales and purchases.
Regulations and Internal Policies:
- Ensure compliance with automotive sector regulations, including emissions standards, vehicle safety, and consumer protection laws.
- Coordinate the updating and enforcement of internal policies on ethics and corporate compliance.
- Manage reports related to gifts, conflicts of interest, and interactions with government officials.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Review supplier and Dealer documentation to meet "Know Your Customer" (KYC) and "Know Your Supplier" (KYS) requirements.
- Manage regulatory reports and respond to requests from local and international authorities.
- Report any suspicious activities or irregularities in company operations.
Training and Awareness:
- Conduct and oversee training on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices within the automotive industry.
- Promote a strong compliance and ethical culture within the organization.
- Advise sales, finance, and operations teams on applicable regulatory requirements.
We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-5 year’s in regulatory compliance, auditing, risk management, or related fields (preferably in the automotive or multinational sector)
- Knowledge of KYC/KYS programs and due diligence and AML/CFT regulations
- Experience in multinational regulatory frameworks and asset.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in compliance and risk management tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to implement controls and foster a compliance culture
- Demonstrated soft-skills and a positive attitude towards change.
