Our Finance department is seeking a Senior Credit Officer to join our team in Barbados. In this position you will be responsible for mitigating credit risk, monitoring the company’s debt portfolio, and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments. This role involves evaluating credit applications, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving client and dealer issues, and supporting administrative functions to uphold the company’s financial health and compliance with credit policies.
What you’ll do:
- Execute the entire receivable transaction process from dealer contact posting to reporting
- Approve orders in the ERP on a trihourly basis.
- Execute the entire credit issuance process. From log generation to reporting.
- Review and issue statements to all active dealers on a weekly basis.
- Monthly update of dealer records with the maintenance of Standby Letters of credit.
- Monthly preparation of the Credit Note Review.
- Monthly preparation of the AR Ageing Report.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of the Monthly Credit Review to the Management team.
- Execution of all activities related to employee expenses.
- Record cash issued to/ received from employees for travel expenses in the appropriate voucher book and posts to general ledger immediately.
- Perform cash count with Chief Accountant or Head of Finance on working day one (1) and prepare reconciliation for review and approval.
- Replenish cash tins as necessary.
- Vendor creation and modification in the ERP.
- Download bank statements and update bank reconciliation daily. Ensuring recurring journal entries are entered into Blackline monthly.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliation by working day six (6).
- File bank credit notes and debit notes weekly.
- Support the Treasury & Credit Manager and wider Finance team where necessary.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
- Qualified professional with a degree in Accounting or a related Finance discipline.
- Experienced in accounting-related tasks, particularly in Accounts Receivable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Highly analytical with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communicator with key stakeholders, such as banking institutions and dealers.
