 Technical Service Advisor - Barbados

Position based in Barbados. Eligible for the benefits defined in the international mobility policy (Employee Initiated).

Our Automotive Service team is currently looking for a talented Technical Service Advisor for Barbados who will ensure all diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work is completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer standards. Key duties include supporting Technicians, validating job sheets and estimates, maintaining quality control, reviewing next-day jobs for correct packages and customer preapprovals, and liaising with customers when technical explanations on diagnostics or repairs are required.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Job Management – Review upcoming jobs, load correct service packages to assist Service Advisors in securing customer preapprovals, and support accurate dispatching.
  • Quality Control – Conduct daily quality checks to maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Estimate Validation – Review and validate estimates to present to Technical Operations Lead and Service Advisors.
  • Technical Expertise & Development– Share technical updates, industry insights, and best practices with the team.
  • Dispatching Support – Assist in job allocation and workload distribution when necessary.
  • Technical Troubleshooting – Provide support on complex diagnostics and repairs.
  • Compliance & Safety – Ensure adherence to manufacturer policies, warranties, and safety regulations.
  • Customer Satisfaction – Focus on first time-right repairs and timely job completion.
  • Technical Reporting – Prepare and submit reports to manufacturers.
  • Industry Knowledge – Stay updated on automotive trends and technology, sharing insights with the team.
  • Dispute Resolution – Address technician challenges and customer concerns professionally.
  • Hoist Inspection– Assist with overseeing the proper use, maintenance, and safety compliance of vehicle hoists.
  • Communication & Coordination – Prepare technical reports and keep Service Leads and Service Manager updated on progress, challenges, and performance.
  • Customer Service & Communication - Liaise directly with customers to explain technical findings and resolve disputes or concerns professionally.

We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:

  • City & Guilds 1 and 2 or Advanced Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related qualifications.
  • 5+ years’ demonstrated experience in the automotive industry
  • Expertise in vehicle, repairs, and maintenance, with an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using computers, diagnostic tools and repair software.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Great team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
