Our Commercial Workshop Team is currently looking for a talented Technician for Barbados to perform diagnoses, repairs, maintenance and installation work to vehicles and equipment. Such work must be completed efficiently, and according to quality, safety, time and manufacturer standards. The primary objectives include ensuring adherence to standards, policies and procedures, ensuring customer satisfaction and ensuring vehicles are fixed the first visit.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and perform repair.
- Examines assigned vehicle/equipment to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended - communicates with dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Ensure strict quality and operational standards are adhered to, with a focus on safety, and cleanliness.
- Ensure productivity and efficiency targets are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Communicates with Parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Places all customer parts back into the vehicle on completion of the work.
- Reports safety issues, machinery defects or malfunctions immediately to Management.
- Ensures that customers’ vehicles and equipment are kept clean. Notifies Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of a vehicle.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty.
- Performs other reasonable and related duties required by Service Management.
We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:
- At least five (5) CXC level passes including Mathematics and English
- Vocational training or certification in motor vehicle maintenance or related discipline preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment
- Sound knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (NB: HD license if not held must be obtained before probation ends)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and explain repairs
- Team-oriented to work effectively with other mechanics and service advisors
- Ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring to complete repairs efficiently
