About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical Service Manager to join the team in Auckland NZ.

As the Automotive Technical Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing our dealer network to ensure prompt and effective resolution of customer inquiries and technical issues. You will play a critical role in providing expert guidance and support to our dealers, to uphold our reputation for excellence in technical assistance.  This role is responsible for supporting the dealer network offering technical support across our brands.

Further to the above the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate our dealers technicians to deliver exceptional customer service and technical assistance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize technical support processes and improve efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with dealers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to support team members in troubleshooting complex automotive systems and components.
  • Collaborate OEMs to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze technical support data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in automotive technology and technical support.

About you:

  • Proven experience in a technical support or customer service management role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools for technical support management.
  • Exposure to the management and operations of vehicle service departments within a dealership environment or similar
  • Be technically competent in all areas of the modern motor vehicle 
  • Have experience and the ability to build, lead and sustain high performing teams
  • A full New Zealand drivers licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline within the automotive industry
