Our Group Internal Control team is seeking a Group Controls & Compliance Specialist. Reporting to the Group Controls & Compliance Manager, you will support the implementation of the Internal Control Framework and provide ongoing assurance over the effectiveness of the control environment. You will act as a trusted partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders across regions and functions.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the end‑to‑end Internal Control assurance process, acting as a key point of contact for control owners.
  • Support control owners through self‑assessments, walkthroughs, continuous testing and validation activities.
  • Identify control gaps, define action plans and monitor remediation to strengthen the control environment.
  • Own the reporting of Internal Control findings and insights, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain and support the Group’s compliance technology tools, ensuring controls libraries and certification processes remain effective and up to date.
  • Act as a controls ambassador, supporting training, communication of standards and the adoption of control automation across the business.

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA); additional certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience working with Global Internal Control Frameworks and assurance activities within complex, regulated, multinational organisations.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, UK Corporate Governance requirements and Sarbanes‑Oxley (or similar) control environments aligned to COSO and COBIT.
  • Analytical and pragmatic, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and translate complexity into practical solutions.
  • A confident communicator and collaborative partner, able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across cultures and functions.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders across regions and cultures.
