Are you looking to accelerate your career path in a stimulating, fast-growing business? At Inchcape, we’re pursuing an exciting strategy to evolve our global business and lead our industry’s transformation.
This role is responsible for developing and delivering the IT roadmap for Northern Europe (Retail and Distribution), aligning with OEM strategies, the Inchcape Accelerate Plus strategy, and local business priorities.
As the senior IT leader, you will partner with the Market Executive Team on IT strategy, service delivery, cybersecurity, and budgeting, acting as the primary escalation point for IT issues.
The role leverages Inchcape’s hybrid IT model across Europe and Africa, contributing to both local and wider initiatives. You will utilize global platforms and delivery centers, manage existing third-party supplier relationships, and engage new partners as needed to meet project and market-specific requirements.
Success requires a proactive, senior business partner mindset, strong influencing skills, and the ability to navigate a complex international matrix to deliver aligned IT solutions.
What you’ll do
Strategy & Planning:
-
Develop, publish, and maintain the Northern Europe IT roadmap, ensuring it reflects business priorities, OEM strategies, and available funding.
-
Promote the adoption of Group, regional, and OEM solutions, minimizing local-specific solutions where possible.
-
Proactively identify technology opportunities to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Delivery & Governance:
-
Deliver the agreed project portfolio on time, on budget, and to the defined quality standards.
-
Ensure benefits from IT initiatives are tracked and realized.
-
Manage the demand pipeline for new projects and enforce a rigorous process for prioritization and approval.
-
Oversee project governance throughout the lifecycle, from initiation through delivery, handover, and benefits realization.
-
Lead the Application Development & Support function to ensure continuity and improvement of critical business services.
Team Leadership:
-
Lead local IT teams, both directly and in a matrix model, ensuring clear objectives, regular performance reviews, and adherence to Inchcape processes for appraisals and development.
-
Build a culture of proactivity and accountability within the team.
-
Maximize the contribution of regional service delivery, global platforms, digital delivery centers, and third-party partners to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement & IT Oversight:
- Serve as the senior IT point of contact for the Northern Europe market.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with central technology and digital delivery teams.
- Actively contribute to the Northern European Senior Management Team, supporting local strategy development and execution.
- Maintain oversight of IT delivery, service, and security, acting as the escalation point for any critical issues.
- Manage IT budgeting and cost control, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities.

To be successful in this role you should have:
-
Proven experience in building, communicating, and delivering IT strategies and roadmaps.
-
Demonstrated success in delivering complex IT projects to a high standard.
-

-
Experience delivering results in a complex, international, matrix-driven organization.
-
Over 5 years of senior IT management experience, ideally at an Executive team level.
