Our People team is seeking the People Director to join our team in Jakarta. In this position you will provide HR consulting and advisory to business leaders in the organisation and is responsible for the PEOPLE function in Indonesia market. He/She guides business leaders to manage workforce surplus or shortfalls and works with hiring leaders to prioritise workforce requirements across the organisation, identifying ways to fulfil them. He/she partners business leaders to define and communicate performance goals for senior staff. He/She guides business leaders to identify critical positions in the organisation and supports the implementation of leadership development plans. He/She advises senior leaders and compensation manager on compensation issues. He/She promotes diverse and inclusive employment culture in the organisation.
What you'll do:
1 Plan PEOPLE and workforce strategy and organisation development –
- Align PEOPLE strategies and plans to organisation’s current and future business strategy in consultation with business leaders.
- Provide guidance to business leaders and managers on workforce supply and demand implications, as well as strategies to manage manpower shortages and surpluses.
- Secure buy-in from senior stakeholders to redesign organisation structure to deliver its vision, mission, strategy and plans in an effective and efficient manner.
- Engage business leaders to establish business imperatives for organisational development or change management initiatives
2 Attract talent
- Overseeing the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and orientation of new hires
- Liaise with business leaders to develop hiring standards for sourcing candidates for leadership roles.
- Promote principles of fair and unbiased employment selection practices to hiring managers and business leaders
- Advocate employee value proposition to strengthen employer brand in the market to secure candidates
3 Talent Management
- Partner with leaders and managers to align learning and development with business needs.
- Define and cascade performance indicators and goals for senior roles and employees.
- Secure buy-in from business leaders on compensation policies and programmes
- Partner with business leaders to champion employee engagement programmes
- Collaborate with business leaders to foster a diverse and inclusive employment culture.
- Lead negotiations and relationship building with trade unions, work councils, employee forums and similar bodies on a range of labour-related issues.
4 Labour policies and legislation –
- Advise on labour policies, employment legislation and their applications to senior business leaders to facilitate their understanding of compliance requirements.
- Review HR processes impacting workplace legislation to ensure controls are in place to prevent regulatory breaches.
5 Technology and Operational Excellence –
- Lead HR transformation programmes, incorporating changes in strategy, structure, people, processes, and systems, to achieve HR technology, service and operational excellence.
- Adopt a service-oriented mindset and people-centricity in dealing with workforce and business stakeholders.
- Develop a service management framework, incorporating service quality standards, service level agreements, and service excellence metrics
6 Relationships and Communication –
- Create high impact, consistent and accurate messaging using appropriate tools to drive engagement, aligned with the organisation-wide communications strategy.
- Manage resistance, objections and conflicts during conversations in a firm, respectful and empathetic manner.
- Provide resources to advise senior leaders to determine the appropriate course of action in people related matters.
7 Analytics and Insights –
- Analyze trends and competitors to optimize HR practices.
- Sense market changes and align workforce with business strategy.
- Develop and recommend future-ready and competitive HR policies and strategies
8 Manage team operations and performance –
- Design and resource the function to support organisation goals.
- Manage and allocate budget for function activities, teams and projects.
- Coach and guide subordinates
