Group Head of People & Inclusion and Diversity
Date: 3 Sept 2026
Location: London, GB
Company: inchcape
Do you want to lead in a dynamic business that is transforming global automotive distribution? At Inchcape, we are pursuing an exciting strategy to evolve our global business and accelerate our industry towards a low-carbon, sustainable future.
As Group Head of People & Inclusion, you'll partner directly with members of the Group Executive Team and their leadership teams, supporting some of the most strategically important priorities across our global business. Acting as a trusted adviser and people leader, you'll help shape organisational capability, talent, culture and colleague experience while influencing decisions that impact colleagues across multiple markets.
This is far more than a traditional People Business Partnering role. It is an opportunity to operate at the centre of Inchcape's global people agenda, partnering with Group Executive Team members and their leadership teams to help shape organisational capability, talent priorities, colleague experience and business performance. As a member of the Global Finance Leadership Team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to wider business discussions and help shape the people priorities that support long-term organisational success.
What You’ll Do
- Partner closely with members of the Group Executive Team and their leadership teams, providing strategic people advice, coaching and challenge that supports organisational performance and business priorities.
- Lead the development and governance of Group People policies and standards, ensuring they remain aligned to business needs, legal requirements and local market application.
- Shape and oversee the annual salary review and bonus processes, working closely with Reward and other specialist teams to promote fairness, consistency and transparency across the Group.
- Lead the Group talent and succession planning cycle, helping identify, develop and retain the leadership capability needed to support future business success.
- Partner with Recruitment and Reward teams to support Group hiring and talent decisions, ensuring we continue to attract and retain diverse, high-performing talent.
- Support international mobility activity, helping colleagues and leaders navigate global moves and ensuring a positive experience throughout the process.
- Lead the evolution of role architecture across Group functions, bringing clarity, consistency and alignment to organisational design and career pathways.
- Provide leadership and guidance on complex employee relations matters, partnering with leaders and colleagues to balance risk, compliance and colleague experience.
- Shape the Group colleague experience agenda, including engagement surveys, insights and action planning, ensuring colleague feedback drives meaningful improvements across the business.
- Lead Inchcape's Inclusion & Diversity agenda, driving measurable progress and helping create an inclusive culture where colleagues can thrive and perform at their best.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrable experience partnering with executive-level stakeholders and leadership teams, providing credible strategic advice and influencing complex decision-making.
- A strong track record of translating business strategy into practical People, talent, organisational and culture priorities.
- Broad People leadership experience across areas such as organisational design, talent and succession, employee relations, reward, recruitment, colleague engagement and inclusion.
- Experience leading People and Inclusion initiatives across complex, international or matrix organisations, balancing global consistency with local market needs.
- The ability to manage multiple high-priority programmes and deliver clear outcomes linked to organisational capability, culture and business performance.
- Strong judgement and the confidence to navigate complex, sensitive or ambiguous people matters at pace.
- Experience using colleague insight, data and feedback to shape decisions and improve organisational culture and employee experience.
- Knowledge of global Inclusion & Diversity and Sustainability reporting requirements, with the ability to translate commitments into measurable action.
- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to build trust, develop others and deliver outcomes through influence rather than hierarchy.
