You’ll be instrumental in executing our bold and exciting strategy, delivering great experiences for our customers, colleagues and partners, and powering the performance of a highly collaborative team of diverse and talented colleagues.

Our M&A and Corporate Development team is seeking an M&A Director, Europe to join us in London. In this position, you will lead corporate development activity across Europe, building a strong transaction pipeline and helping the region deliver its ambitious inorganic growth agenda. You will bring an external perspective, create trusted relationships across our markets and lead transactions that support the long-term growth of Inchcape.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and develop acquisition, investment, divestment and joint venture opportunities that support the growth ambitions of our markets, region and Group.
  • Build a strong regional deal pipeline by developing trusted relationships with market leaders, prospective businesses, banks, advisers and other external partners.
  • Lead transactions from initial evaluation through to completion, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, bid preparation, negotiation and securing the appropriate internal and Board approvals.
  • Advise the Europe and Africa leadership team on M&A opportunities, portfolio priorities, transaction structures and the strategic and commercial implications of potential investments.
  • Work closely with the global M&A team, regional leaders and market teams, contributing an outside-in perspective and supporting wider company business development activity.
  • Prepare clear, high-quality investment materials and recommendations that enable senior stakeholders to make well-informed decisions.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external advisers throughout the transaction process, combining strategic judgement with a willingness to remain close to the detail and drive delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Significant hands-on corporate development or M&A experience, including direct involvement in buy-side transactions and a track record of progressing deals through to completion.
  • Experience working within an in-house corporate environment, with an understanding of how to build organisational sponsorship and navigate internal investment and governance processes.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, including experience of financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and assessing the strategic and financial case for potential transactions.
  • The credibility and influencing skills to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, market teams, Boards, advisers and prospective business partners.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain momentum across complex transactions.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the judgement to operate autonomously and the willingness to move between strategic thinking and detailed, hands-on delivery.
  • A collaborative, low-ego leadership style, bringing fresh thinking while working constructively as part of a global and regional team.
