SUMMARY

The sales cashier is responsible for accurately processing payments for products and services while delivering excellent customer service. This role plays a vital part in ensuring positive customer experiences and supporting daily dealership operations.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Receive cash, checks, and credit card payments for products and services; accurately record all transactions.
  • Reconcile assigned cash drawer daily and prepare deposits for submission to Accounting.
  • Issue receipts, process refunds, and generate credit memorandums as needed.
  • Calculate and secure daily sales totals at the end of each work shift, ensuring reports reconcile with cash, check, and credit card amounts collected.
  • Maintain and verify the cash fund daily.
  • Release vendor checks upon payment verification.
  • Greet customers in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly, route calls appropriately, and respond to customer inquiries regarding services, parts, and appointments.
  • Schedule, reschedule, or cancel service appointments as needed.
  • Assist customers with billing questions, payment processing, and service updates.
  • Resolve basic customer complaints or refer them to appropriate managers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain updated vendor information in internal systems (such as address corrections in Coupa).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Service, Parts, and Accounting Departments.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
    • 1-2 years in customer service and cash-handling role
  • Licensure
    • Valid Driver’s License
