We are seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Foreman to join our high-performing team at Inchcape Subaru Bundoora, Victoria, in a permanent full-time position.
As a key member of the Service Department leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting workshop productivity, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with the Workshop Controller and reporting to the Service Manager, you will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor technicians, and help drive a high-performing workshop culture focused on quality, efficiency, and exceptional service.
About the Role
As the Automotive Foreman, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the workshop while delivering high-quality vehicle servicing and repairs. You will act as a technical expert within the team, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Working closely with the Workshop Controller, you will assist with workshop workflow, provide guidance to technicians and apprentices, conduct quality control checks, and support the resolution of complex diagnostic and repair concerns.

What You'll Do
- Support and promote a strong "First Time Fix" culture across the workshop
- Complete advanced diagnostics, servicing, and repair work to manufacturer standards
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all work meets dealership and manufacturer requirements
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to technicians and apprentices
- Work closely with the Workshop Controller to manage workflow and workshop productivity
- Assist in identifying and resolving complex technical issues
- Road test vehicles before and after repairs where required
- Ensure repair orders, service records, and workshop documentation are completed accurately
- Liaise with Service Advisors and the Workshop Controller regarding additional repair requirements
- Support workshop efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction targets
- Promote a safe working environment and adherence to workplace health and safety standards
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
About You
- Qualified Automotive Technician with relevant trade qualifications
- Previous experience in a Foreman, Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician, or similar leadership role
- Strong diagnostic and technical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working within a dealership or automotive service environment
- Ability to mentor, coach, and support technicians and apprentices
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of workshop processes, productivity, and efficiency measures
- A full driver's licence with a sound driving record
