Purpose of the Role:

To perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of tractors and related agricultural machinery to
ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime as per manufacturer recommendations

 

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Assessments & Repairs
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and inspections on tractors and mechanical systems, providing
recommendations both in the field and workshop.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Perform engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system fixes, and hydraulic repairs as per OEM
standards.
2. Preventive Maintenance
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and system
checks.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections and assembly of new units.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and maintenance schedules.
3. Testing & Quality Assurance
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Document all repairs and maintenance performed.
4. Customer Service
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and provide equipment care
recommendations.
• Advise supervisors appropriately after engaging with customers on maintenance and repair
requirements.
5. Workshop Safety & Compliance
• Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
6. Tools Management & Reporting
• Ensure safe and proper maintenance of tools and diagnostic equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Maintain accurate service records, schedules, and part usage.
• Inform supervisor of any required spare parts for repairs.
7. Technical Support & Training
• Provide technical support to operators and colleagues.
• Complete warranty and product improvement work per OEM instructions.
• Participate in OEM and company training as required.

The role holder must exhibit the below behaviours:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
• Understanding of agricultural machinery and equipment functionality
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and OEM instructions
• Good communication skills and customer service orientation
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Minimum technical diploma or certification in mechanical/automotive engineering or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in agricultural or heavy machinery servicing
• Valid driver’s license is an added advantage
