Control and Compliance Specialist

Our Group Internal Control is seeking a Controls & Compliance Specialist (ITGC) to help embed our control framework across core processes and systems as we scale globally. You’ll champion controls automation (e.g., within SAP), partner with platform teams, and support governance aligned to standards such as SOX, ISO 27001, NIST, COSO and COBIT. You’ll report to the Central Entities Finance Controller and work cross‑functionally to drive a proactive risk and control culture.

What you'll do

• Lead end‑to‑end IT General Controls (ITGC) assurance for Digital entities—own planning, continuous testing/validation, issue remediation tracking, and insights reporting to stakeholders. 
• Guide control owners through annual self‑assessments and walkthroughs; maintain the Digital compliance module and keep assurance programs current and fit‑for‑purpose. 
• Act as an internal control ambassador—facilitate risk/compliance discussions, clarify business impact of IT control issues, and define controls for new applications. 
• Lead internal control training across platform teams to uplift control mindset and capability. 
• Produce insightful monthly/quarterly/ad‑hoc compliance reports for Finance LT, Group Exec, Audit Committee, and the Board. 
• Support the Group’s controls automation strategy and help identify automation opportunities with the Digital team (including RPA/automation within ERP).

About you 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT/IS/Cybersecurity (or related)
• 3+ years in compliance; certifications like CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 are a plus
• Proven delivery of ITGC frameworks/assurance in a global, regulated environment (FTSE experience and shared service center design desirable). 
• Familiarity with SOX environments and alignment to COSO/COBIT frameworks. 
• Strong analytical judgment; able to craft practical solutions at pace and win support for decisions. 
• Excellent planning and prioritization across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. 
• Hands‑on with audit/compliance tools (e.g., TeamMate, AuditBoard, Workiva, BlackLine) and ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics). 
• Clear, audience‑appropriate communication; impeccable ethics, discretion, and confidentiality.
