Purpose of Role: 

The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, performance, and evolution of network infrastructure across LATAM. This role will contribute to the stability and integrity of WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and Cloud networking solutions, while ensuring alignment with the company’s global network architecture and security standards.

The engineer will provide technical expertise for incident resolution, changes, and projects, as well as collaborate with global peers and local IT teams in delivering operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Role and Responsibilities: 

Regional Operational Support

• Ensure timely resolution of network incidents and requests across LATAM markets.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting for firewalls, switches, APs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
• Monitor and optimize network performance; provide reports and metrics aligned to KPIs.
• Act as a technical point of contact for local IT teams and escalate to global teams as needed

Project Delivery & Implementation 

• Participate in regional and global projects involving network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
• Translate business and architectural requirements into technical network solutions.
• Support implementation of new sites, connectivity solutions (MPLS, DIA, SDWAN), and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams during project rollout phases.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all changes are documented and implemented following ITIL and change control policies.
• Maintain accurate records of network topology, IP schemes, firewall rules, and configurations.
• Contribute to audit readiness and security compliance aligned to ITGC/NIST frameworks.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with global teams across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
• Provide technical insights and feedback to enhance global standards.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows or calls when required due to time zone differences

Qualifications: 

Technical Skills 

• 2-4 years of experience managing enterprise networks in hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Strong experience with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) – Mandatory.
• Hands-on with Cisco Meraki, Aruba, or equivalent LAN/Wi-Fi technologies.
• Experience with MPLS, SD-WAN (e.g., Silver Peak), VPNs, and internet failover scenarios.
• Strong understanding of network protocols: IPv4, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, NAT, etc.
• Experience supporting Cloud Networking in Azure – Mandatory.
• Familiarity with network automation (Python, Ansible) is a plus.

Formal Education & Certification

• Four-year university degree in the field of network or telecommunication science and/or 8 years equivalent work experience.
• Certifications in Cloud networking are highly regarded.
• Certifications in Cisco, Security - Desirable.
• ITIL v4 foundation – Desirable.
