Our People team is seeking a People Business Partner for Panama to join our team in Panama with scope over 8 branches. In this position, you will be acting as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, aligning HR practices with business objectives to foster a safe, high-performance culture on the floor and across the organization.
Reporting directly to the CARCAM People Director, this role is a strong contributor to building talent practices and a regional liaison for global programs (e.g., employee engagement, diversity & inclusion initiatives). This role requires both strategic insight and a hands-on approach-ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in dynamic environments and values meaningful impact.
What you’ll do
- Develop a strategic approach to talent management for the area: Provide insights into talent best practices and market trends to develop customized talent management plans that support the unit in achieving its objectives.
- Define, analyze, and monitor the Workforce Planning of the Unit: Dimensioning of the Unit, budgets, skills gaps, upskilling, reskilling, development programs.
- Talent Development: Define differentiated and segmented lines of action for the different areas through the Talent Map, critical positions, as well as levers to drive high performance.
- Promote the culture, engagement, and communication strategy in the Unit by generating initiatives that improve commitment and continuous two-way feedback.
- Ensure compliance with People policies and labor management of the team.
- Ensure compliance with the performance cycle in terms of quality and form by the area.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Managers on how to address performance concerns and policy concerns. Escalate situations where formal corrective action or investigations are needed to the Employee Relations team.
- Promote positive labor relations, including advise to employees and managers about company practices, procedures, regulations and need for compliance.
- Responds to escalated Human Resources issues including investigation of internal and external complaints.
- Perform exit interviews and propose action plans based on the information provided by the employees.
- Support legal or structural projects such as entity mergers or compliance reviews.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, in Business Administration, Psychology and/or Industrial Engineering. Preferred: Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations.
- At least 5 years of successful experience as an HR leader in roles such as HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or HR Manager.
- Knowledge of People processes: performance, talent attraction, people management, compensation, training, communications, and change management.
- Strong writing, communication, critical thinking skills, adaptability, and conflict resolution are a must
- Advanced English both written and spoken.
- Expertise in both general HR Labor law and the specific customs and trade regulations governing the FTZ.
