Our Assembly team is seeking a Engineering Assistant Manager to join our team in Indonesia. In this position you will work closely other cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, solve process challenges, and deliver operational excellence.
What you’ll do
- Assembly Line Design: Configuring the layout of machines, robots, and worker stations to ensure an efficient car assembly flow (applying Lean Manufacturing principles).
- Cycle Time Optimization: Analyzing and eliminating wasted time at each assembly station to meet daily production targets (Takt Time).
- Product Quality Control: Ensuring every assembly stage—such as body weld strength or the precision of glass installation; meets quality standards and achieves a "Zero Defect" outcome.
- Automation and Maintenance: Monitoring the performance of assembly robots, conveyor systems, and automatic fastening tools (nutrunners), and addressing technical issues during production line stoppages (Line Stop).
- Work Standardization: Developing clear written guidelines (Standard Operating Procedures/SOPs) for factory operators to maintain consistency and workplace safety.
- Component Localization: Leading localization projects (manufacturing components in the country where the factory is located) to reduce logistics costs and comply with local content regulations.
About You
- Education: Bachelor's degree (S1) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Additional Certifications (Optional but preferred): Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification or occupational safety certification (such as General K3 in Indonesia).
- Certifications in automotive quality management systems (such as IATF 16949) or project management certifications.
- Understanding of Measuring Instruments: Mastery of the use of precision measuring instruments and quality control tools (QC Tools).
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (both spoken and written)
- Additional language skills; such as Japanese, Korean, or Chinese; are a significant advantage at many automotive companies.
