Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant Manager to support our Legal team. This role will manage a range of responsibilities including legal support and compliance oversight. The successful candidate will likewise provide support to other departments that the Legal Counsel assists, such as, but not limited to, employee relations, litigation, and corporate secretariat. The ideal candidate will have strong legal knowledge, investigative skills, and the ability to work discreetly and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Support
- Assist in the preparation, review, and management of legal documents, contracts, and corporate filings.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external counsel on legal matters and litigation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports, summaries, and recommendations.
- Maintain and update legal records, case files, and compliance documentation.
Compliance Management
- Monitor and ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support the development, implementation, and training of compliance programs.
- Track regulatory changes and assess potential impact on company policies and practices.
- Coordinate with various departments to audit and assess risk management processes.
Employee Investigations
- Lead investigations into employee complaints, misconduct, ethics violations, and policy breaches.
- Conduct interviews, gather documentation, and analyze evidence impartially.
- Draft clear, accurate, and timely investigation reports and recommend appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with HR and Legal to ensure fair resolution and appropriate corrective measures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout all investigations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related bachelor’s degree in law or Juris Doctor
- 5+ years of experience in a legal, compliance, or employee relations role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Solid understanding of employment law, labor standards, compliance regulations, and investigation protocols.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High ethical standards and discretion with sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Certification in compliance (e.g., CCEP) or workplace investigations is a plus.
- Experience in multinational or regulated industries.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
