POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key member of the Regional Finance team, you will partner with our APAC-wide businesses responsible for ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial support.

This position is a key support role to our Market FCs, holding Counsel on all relevant accounting matters as well as being the first point for preparation of financial accounting memorandums.

The general ledger scope includes reviewing account reconciliations on a cyclical basis, process excellence and governance, statutory financial statement preparation and Global Financial Reporting.

This position will collaborate with key business stakeholders.

 

KEY REPONSIBILITIES:

Reconsiliations:

Reconciliations Review:

  • Review and approve account categorisations in conjunction with Regional Finance Controller.
  • Review and cycle through balance sheet reconciliation schedules via Smartsheet and Blackline.
  • Support resolution of variances with Market FCs.

Periodic G200 Review:

  • On a semi-annual basis, Review areas of management judgement and over-ride with Market FCs
  • Prepare draft G200 paper for Regional Finance Controller’s review
  • Support Market FCs on areas of judgement with the preparation of financial memorandums to support accounting judgement positions, as required.

Intercompany:

  • Oversee the submission into BPC with a clear final validation

Reporting:

BPC Reporting:

  • Define and communicate data extract requirements.
  • Pull data required for analysis/supporting documentation.
  • Review reports and perform variances analysis.
  • Collect and consolidate trends and variances in required report out format.
  • Provide explanation/notes to variances.
  • Liaise with market FCs to obtain inputs on variances/supporting where required.
  • Process manual adjustments post approval, as required in BPC.
  • Review Material validations and resolve variances with Market teams
  • Review submissions of markets and associated reconciliations.

Statutory Reporting:

  • Define and communicate reporting requirements.
  • Pull data required for prepare the statements for monthly/quarterly/annual returns.
  • Prepare reports along with explanations in the standard template as prescribed for local statutory requirements.
  • Coordinating with finance functions to gather and organize required information for submission
  • Supporting with additional data/ clarifications for any inquiries received from external auditors and government agencies.
  • Consolidate and submit reporting package
  • File reports to authorities in conjunction with Legal Counsel.

Consolidation:

  • Define and communicate data extract requirements.
  • Review details of group elimination entries (including stock profit elimination) for consolidation and reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements and supplementary information for each market

Consolidated Financial Statements review and Adjustment:

  • Review anomalies and suggest adjustments.
  • Prepare consolidated statements to support markets

Consolidated Financial Statements review and Adjustment:

  • Support maintenance of Group finance policies and controls documentation
  • Communicate finance policies and controls, procedure changes to the Group

Governance:

  • Review of monthly task list executions, reconciliation progress and journal requests by our APAC markets
  • Adherence with InControl standards pertaining to Internal Control protocols to be followed by this role

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Requirements:

  • Background in financial accounting
  • Understanding of accounting standards and accounting policies
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience using BPC

 

QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATE & LECENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, finance or a related discipline
  • CA/CPA qualified
