Purpose of role

The People Services Director, Asia Pacific is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of HR shared services across multiple countries in the region. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in key HR functions, including regional payroll services, compensation and benefits administration, HR system administration, and employee lifecycle administration. The position requires a strategic leader who can drive efficiency, standardization, and employee satisfaction in HR service delivery while aligning with global and regional business objectives.

Job role and responsibilities:

 

 

 

1

Regional Payroll Services -   

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and external payroll vendors to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement payroll automation and technology-driven solutions to improve accuracy and reporting.

Operational Excellence -   

  • Manage regional benefits programs, including employee benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific benefits regulations and corporate policies.
  • Work with HR and Finance teams to optimize cost-effective benefits offerings while maintaining competitive market positioning.
  • Support annual benefits renewal processes.

HR System Administration -   

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Drive HR technology adoption and process automation across the region.
  • Collaborate with IT and global HR teams to enhance system capabilities and user experience.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security standards.

Employee Lifecycle Administration -   

  • Lead the administration of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and transfers.
  • Ensure seamless HR service delivery through efficient documentation, compliance adherence, and process improvement.
  • Monitor employee query resolution and enhance service levels through HR shared services best practices.
  • Implement employee self-service solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Metrics and Reporting -   

  • Establish key performance indicators, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to monitor HR shared services performance and provide insights to HR leadership.
  • Conduct regular analysis of HR data to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement, making data-driven recommendations to enhance People Services delivery.

                                                                

 

skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of HR operations experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing regional shared services.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, payroll, compensation & benefits, and HR systems across multiple APAC countries.
  • Experience with HR technology platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar systems.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and statutory requirements across the Asia Pacific region.
