Atkins Kroll is looking for a skilled and dependable Aerial Diesel Mechanic to join our Equipment Service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, service, and maintain aerial work platform equipment and other diesel and gas-powered heavy equipment both in the workshop and at customer job sites.

What you’ll do
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aerial work platform equipment and other diesel and gas-powered heavy equipment in the workshop or field
• Inspect equipment, identify the cause of mechanical failures, and determine required replacement parts
• Perform overhauls, repairs, and calibrations on engines, ignition systems, steering and control systems, lift cylinders, and valve systems
• Repair and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, control modules, and sensors
• Perform instrumentation repair, valve adjustments, grinding, seating, and related mechanical repairs
• Repair electronically controlled devices and systems on aerial work platforms and other heavy equipment
• Use a wide range of testing equipment and shop tools for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and calibration
• Overhaul exhaust systems and repair exhaust after-treatment systems when applicable
• Perform emergency field repairs as needed
• Complete preventative maintenance, servicing, tire changes, and routine repairs
• Accurately complete work orders and timecards daily
• Complete jobs within quoted labor hours and maintain productivity standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop and service truck if assigned
• Properly maintain company tool inventory
• Provide professional and responsive customer service to clients

 

About you
• Technical or trade school certification in mechanical services or related field preferred
• Two to three years of experience in the maintenance and servicing of aerial work platform equipment or other heavy equipment preferred
• Experience with diesel and gas-powered equipment, hydraulics, engines, and electronically controlled systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to obtain DBIDS/Rapid Gate base access
• Must provide basic personal tools required for the role, with additional required tools within twelve months of employment
• Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
