SUMMARY

 

The Diesel Mechanic performs diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs miscellaneous heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, generators, cranes, material lifts, forklifts, and other equipment as required to assist customers.   The service repairs are completed in the workshop or on-site.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

 

  • Workshop and on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of miscellaneous heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, generators, cranes, material lifts, forklifts, and other equipment, upon customer’s request.
  • Document repair details on work orders, record time spent on time cards daily, ensure parts used are received and charged on the work orders.
  • Complete jobs within the quoted labor hour, seek approval for additional time as needed.
  • Maintain workshop and service truck in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Properly maintain company’s tool inventory.
  • Act as customer service liaison, as required.
  • Communicate job status with Service Admin, at least daily.
  • Submit parts request to Service/Part Admin to identify and order correct part(s) needed to complete the job.
  • Attend OEM training, as required or when available.
  • Work with other mechanics as needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Must have own tools.  Morrico to supply basic heavy equipment workshop tools as deemed necessary by Management.
  • High school graduate, hands-on job experience a plus
  • Has a Guam Driver’s license
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain base access
  • Available to work extended hours if needed to respond to a call-out
