SUMMARY

The Estimator is responsible to provide timely, accurate and customer approved estimates for repair work.  This position ensures the quality, timeliness and fashion in which auto body repair services are performed and ultimately delivered to our valued customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Meets and greets customers in a friendly professional manner.
  • Create estimates in accordance with dealership, insurance company and industry standards by inspecting the damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage.  
  • Utilizes dealership-specific estimating software and industry knowledge to prepare accurate repair estimates.
  • Itemizes parts, labor, and materials required for each repair job, ensuring transparency and adherence to dealership pricing policies.
  • Dispatches work and assists in the oversight of all work performed and ensures work is performed accurately and is completed by promise time
  • Ensures the repair order is properly documented with proper flag sheets, technician notes, etc.
  • Interacts with customers to explain repair processes, provide cost estimates, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Maintains open and proactive communication throughout the repair process, updating customers on progress and any changes to the estimate or timeline.
  • Identify necessary parts and materials for repair jobs and place orders with parts department
  • Conducts final inspections of completed repairs to ensure quality and compliance with dealership standards.
  • Addresses any issues or discrepancies promptly, working closely with technicians to resolve concerns and deliver superior repair outcomes.
  • Participates in all training programs and certifications required
  • Collaborates with technicians, painters, and other body shop personnel to coordinate workflow and prioritize repairs based on urgency and resource availability
  • Share in the learning process and act as a mentor to new technicians by illustrating best practices and embracing/promoting quality repairs
  • Maintain excellent communications and relations with insurance companies to facilitate claims processing and approval
  • Keeps log of estimates performed and processes conversion rate matrix and provides report to Manager
  • Attends all departmental meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
    • 1-2 years in automotive insurance claims processing
  • Licensure
    • Guam’s Driver’s License
