Our Procurement department is seeking a Facilities Manager for CARCAM to join our team in Costa Rica. In this position you will Manage the areas/activities of maintenance, administration, and asset security for the CARCAM Region through sustainable practices that ensure operational
continuity of the company’s various sites.
Responsibilities include supervising maintenance, administration, and asset security areas (both in-house and outsourced). In this role you will also encompass the execution of projects that affect company infrastructure or services, participation in corporate committees (CAPEX, Tender, and Ad-Hoc Committees), setting service level agreements with internal stakeholders, implementing the Facilities Handbook or other corporate standards, administering site lease contracts, and managing approximately 30 sites across the region.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement the regional master plan for facilities, including maintenance, renovations, and expansion projects.
- Supervise maintenance, administration, and asset security activities across the region, whether managed directly or through third parties.
- Lead the execution of construction, renovation, and site opening projects.
- Lead the regional Facilities team and oversee staff development. Ensure effective communication and coordination among multicultural teams.
- Actively participate in CAPEX, Tender, and Ad-Hoc Committees.
- Manage lease contracts for company sites.
- Oversee asset and electronic security for company operations.
- Supervise critical service providers (security, cleaning, maintenance).
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on responsible business under the People, Planet, Places, and Practices framework.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable technologies and practices (solar panels, recycling systems, energy efficiency).
- Guarantee timely openings of new sites, including operational permits, licenses, and compliance with execution timelines
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Master’s degree in Project Management or Business Administration Preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, infrastructure projects, maintenance, and general services, ideally in a regional role.
- Proven track record in implementing cost optimization and sustainability strategies
- Prove experience managing complex, multi-functional projects.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze Total Contract Value.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; other languages are a plus.
