Our Legal and Compliance Team in Barbados is seeking a Legal and Compliance Analyst to join our team in Barbados.
In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the business in managing legal and compliance matters across the relevant CARCAM markets and entities. You will identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks, review and prepare contracts and legal documentation, support regulatory requirements and Inchcape’s Compliance Framework, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to provide practical guidance that supports the business while promoting strong governance, controls, and a culture of integrity.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements across Inchcape’s six compliance pillars and relevant CARCAM entities.
- Conduct compliance control and risk assessments, maintain the company’s risk tool, and support the annual review of compliance controls.
- Support internal and external audits, compliance training initiatives, and the implementation of regulatory requirements across Barbados and Puerto Rico.
- Coordinate the execution, updating, and secure management of contracts, amendments, corporate documents, legal letters, and other legal documentation.
- Support the Legal Manager with matters involving Dealers, OEMs, Suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance with automotive sector regulations, including vehicle safety, emissions, and consumer protection requirements.
- Manage compliance reporting related to gifts, conflicts of interest, and interactions with government officials.
- Promote a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance across the organization.
- Perform other reasonable and related duties as required.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
- Qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- Bringing 2–3 years’ experience in regulatory compliance, auditing, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the automotive or multinational sector.
- Knowledgeable in Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism regulations, particularly as they relate to vehicle sales and purchases.
- Skilled in compliance risk management, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify compliance gaps and assess complex regulatory matters.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively across different countries, cultures, and working styles.
- An excellent communicator, with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with multinational regulatory frameworks; experience in this area would be an asset.
