The Head of Commercial Retail and Business Development is responsible for managing the commercial retail business while delivering growth and transformation strategies across the business. This key leadership roles combines strategic thinking with entrepreneurial drive and marketing aptitude.

 

Reporting to the Commercial Retail Director and working closely with the Heads of departments across the business, this role is focused on the strategic positioning of the company’s product portfolio and sales & marketing strategy along with development and roll out of key initiatives across the business to deliver innovative new opportunities for revenue growth, which also align with the global accelerate strategy for Distribution & Retail Excellence, Vehicle lifecycle services and Responsible business.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

 

Managing Business Complexity


•    Leads the Commercial Retail business, delivering on OEM commitments while achieving commercial sales and revenue targets.
•    Maintains an accurate rolling forecasting on unit sales, revenue and gross profit
•    Identifying new and impactful business opportunities which will deliver new business and revenue growth opportunities.
•    delivering on the global accelerate strategy for retail/distribution excellence, vehicle lifecycle services and responsible business. 
•    Support the implementation/roll out of key initiatives which drive operational, employee and customer experience improvements while also delivering revenue growth.
•    Managing the strategic positioning of the company’s product portfolio, closely monitoring market trends and adapting commercial and marketing practices to ensure the company achieve its commercial objectives.
•    Works with all business units to identify business opportunities by researching, analysing and scoping both existing and new business ideas
•    Closely monitors market trends both locally and internationally to identify key trends, risks and opportunities to guide the business.
•    Develop business plans and proposals to present to key stake holders on strategic opportunities
•    Identify synergistic opportunities across CARCAM to reduce overheads, improve efficiency and grow revenue.

•    Manages and analyzes department financial data - Providing and presenting monthly reports to the senior leadership team on the performance and trends of the department.
•    Develop and execute on a Retail Excellence program which provides a framework to ensure the consistent engagement and support of the sales network while delivering key initiatives to drive retention, improve efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer experience with a view to increasing part sales and delivering market share and revenue growth
•    Develops, implements, manages and continuously strives to improve on all operational processes to achieve maximum efficiency while always maintaining the highest quality and customer satisfaction standards.
•    Establishes and tracks operational KPIs to continuously measure and report on all key areas of the operation.
•    Continuously drives and supports all team members in overcoming obstacles in order to achieve sales targets while exceeding customer expectations and delivering exceptional customer experience.
•    Departs from traditional ways of doing things to ensure customer satisfaction and develop new business opportunities while complying with company policies.

 

We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:

 

•  A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is typically required. A master's degree in business administration (MBA) may be preferred. 

•  7+ years of relevant experience in commercial retail and business development, ideally in a leadership or managerial role.

•  Experience in the retail industry, particularly in managing commercial operations and driving business growth.

•  Proficiency in conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and identifying customer needs and preferences.

•  Ability to gather and interpret customer insights to inform product assortment, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.

•  Experience in implementing customer-centric approaches and enhancing the overall customer experience.

•  Ability to leverage customer insights, market trends and competitive analysis to develop product positioning, sales and marketing strategies.
