Our Procurement team is seeking a Procurement & Facilities Manager for Central America & Caribbean region to join our team in Costa Rica with scope over 4 markets. In this position, you will be leading and implementing a strategic approach to procurement and facility management, ensuring departmental alignment with cost-efficient procurement practices and contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives. Assume full responsibility for facility operations, driving procurement efficiency, managing associated risks, and securing operational continuity and effective workplace management.

What you’ll do 

  • Develop and communicate a Procurement / Facilities business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct research to source the best value products/services and suppliers in terms of best compliance, value, delivery schedules and quality.
  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
  • Run core tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation.
  • Develops specifications for cost-effective campus energy management systems; supervises the operations, maintenance and repair of such systems.
  • Capex implementation, ensuring the execution of 100% of CAPEX projects where Facilities is the owner and develops project expense control
  • Ensure Workplace Management
  • Develop, communicate and administer Procurement / Facilities team performance and development plans and appraisals.
  • Real estate optimization, minimizing occupancy costs and increasing the ROI on the owned and leased properties.
  • Contribute to CO2 emissions target reductions as part of the Responsible Business Agenda
  • Strengthen a control environment, mitigating risk and conflicts in the supplier selection, improving transparency. 

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will be: 

  • Professional with studies in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Finance or related.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Specialization studies in management or leadership, or MBA is preferable.
  • At least 8 years of experience in purchasing/Facilities areas with a focus on Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or in Supply Chain or logistics areas and Facility management.
  • At least 7 years of experience leading work teams.
  • Autonomy, strategic, holistic and disruptive thinking to discover unconventional opportunities, promoting innovation
  • Experience in hard savings and cost efficiencies with direct impact on the bottom line
